So I was just browsing ebay and came across these (and there seem to be loads of them on there)...

and I was thinkin, there are times when I just wanna plug in without going through all my other gear (i.e. it's all disconnected because I've been out gigging), and run through Amplitube or such to jam along. Now £15 doesn't seem so bad, but is it con. To me, it looks identical to this....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Behringer-GUITAR-LINK-UCG102-USB-Interface-/140407100674?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item20b0ea5502

But the behringer one is at least £25 more expensive. So is that £25 because it's got behringer on it, or is there something iffy going on inside ?. It looks far to similar to be a different device (they even use the same stock photos showing how it's hooked up). Any thoughts ? I can't find a review of a non-behringer unit online anywhere.

Behringer is not currently known as a "premium" name, so I can't imagine that's the reason for the difference in price, and they do look like identical devices. So, I'd say the one supplier is buying them better than the other, or the other simply wants a higher return on investment. Either situation is equally likely. If you left it to me, I'd buy the less expensive of the two and not worry about it.

Yeah, that's what threw me. I always expected Behringer to be doing things at rock bottom price already, so to see someone knock off half the price is surprising.
That said, it's probably only a cheapie ADC-DAC and a pre-amp in there, so £45 does seem a bit excessive, looks like Behringer dropped the ball on this one.
