Archie - Forest Fire Roasted Pine Telecaster

Took a moment to weigh the body without any hardware. It came it at 4 lbs 6.7 oz. The Van Dyke-Harms Hybrid Telecaster Bridge and Monolithic Saddle Combo arrived yesterday. Also purchased a control panel and neck plate from them.

Also weighed the bridge 7.6 oz and neck and control plates 7.4 oz.

The Fralin Split Steel Poled Bridge and Steel Pole 42 Neck Tele pickups will arrive later this week. I also ordered a Warmoth Roasted Birdseye Tele neck to go with this build.

It's plastic.

I wish I had a way to cut down some pine boards ( to make a pickguard) that I bought at a farm sale. One side of the boards still have the bark on it (1x6x10 boards).
Maybe I could use the pattern on the pickguard, and use my carving knife to carve out the lighter rings in the pickguard, then paint it black as if it was burnt.

It looks fine, I much prefer that charred wood one you posted from Lohengrin Woodworks. But honestly I think the fire pine is the wood I’d want to highlight and for that a simple 1-ply Bakelite guard would do the trick.
