Anyone like watches?

I like my Timex Ironman Triathlon T5H421

Very cool. And, I do have to say, that it is nice to see a watch being featured that doesn't have a metal band. That's one pet peeve that I have is that anything really exotic looking normally is pinned with a metal band, which doesn't sit well for us who wound up inhereting the gene that causes the same problem Robin Williams has (well, maybe some of us, me included, have both of the genes that cause the problems Robin has--the hairy arms and the ADD).

I really like chronographs.  I had purchased a Festina Dashboard while on my honeymoon back in 2005, and last year I picked up a Tag Heuer F1 "Indy 500" Edition.  I'm disappointed with the Festina, because it seems like I'm always replacing batteries.  I haven't had any issues with the Tag; beautiful watch, and top quality.

I'd really like to pick up a Tag Heuer "Gulf Edition" Monaco, but I need my arm and leg.

I actually have more watches than guitars!  My crown jewel is a simple Rolex Explorer II.  Simple and has served me well.  My hobby is mechanical movements..especially skeletonized watches.

That watch seems cool.  I am a little concerned about the "oil changes.". A lot of watches featuring rubber bands these days...very fashion forward....kinda like natural masked binding!

I'm not a collector, but I've wanted a skeleton watch ever since I was a kid. Christmas before last my wife bought me this one. Definitely nerdy cool. Definitely.

I really like how the main hand spins around and each "hand" has 4 numbers on it that spin around. Just really cool to watch :laughing7:

I got a skeleton pocket watch for Christmas last year. I had now idea how cool I thought watches were until then and am pretty into them now....not that I own any :sad1:

Pretty fancy. Where'd you find a watch where you could tell what time it is just by looking at it? <grin>

I can't stand watches with rubber bands. They make my wrist all sweaty.  :tard:
Metal bands look nicer anyways.

I usually prefer black Titanium type of bands, though I've had a few chrome bands over the years. I've never worn a gold watch, though. They don't look right on me.
I have a cheap watch with a wooden band somewhere, if I can find it, I'll post a picture. :blob7:

Edit: Found it. Cheap piece of crap that I wouldn't want to wear, but it looks cool.

those wrist watch thingies are way too modern for me... what is wrong with the good ol fashioned way: checking the time on your phone?

haha, it even comes with a backlight, and 12/24 hour time keeping mode. And it glows BRIGHT under a blacklight!  :icon_tongue:

I heard something in the news once about kids in not being able to read clocks anymore, because they only ever look at their cell phones. I laughed, and then feared for my life, because one day we're all going to be in retirement homes with these people taking care of us.

American kids working in retirement homes? HA! Fat chance. If we make it past 2012, it'll be all immigrant people working in those homes. They seem to value old people a lot more than we do. We stick them in homes, after all . . .  :sad1:

I have a really nice Tissot. I saw a bunch of Invictas on HSN. Man I'm really thinkin about collecting.

I'm wearing a nice Bulova at the moment. I love watches, and would like to get into collecting, but they're a bit too rich for my blood. This one was actually a gift from my parents for finishing my master's.

Congrats on the Masters' degree!  Job well done!

Bulova are very nice watches.

I also love watches, but you're right, collecting is pretty rich.  I'd love to own a Tag Heuer Carrera, and especially the Monaco "Gulf Racing" edition.  :cool01:
