Anyone Install a Gotoh Floyd with the Gotoh bushings? I have ?'s...

Hi,

I'm considering installing a Gotoh floyd over the original in my project guitar. I know I can use the OFR bushing (which is what my body is drilled for), but if I decided to use the Gotoh bushing what size drill do I use? They are fatter than the OFR bushings (11.3 mm) as opposed to the OFR which are 10.2 mm.

You should trade bushings with Cagey. He needs big ones and you need regular :dontknow:

Pabloman is right. We should trade bushings. I have a pair of 10.2mm bushings, and need the 11.3s. This would solve a major problem for both of us. PM me with an address if you're interested.

Incidentally, the bushings are black but the posts are chrome on these, if that makes a difference to you. The bushings get buried, so that's not an issue, but the posts may be. I don't care what color yours are; I want 'em <grin>

Unfortunately, I don't have have the tremolo yet....I'm considering a Gotoh, but before I do, I wanted to know some things about it...

I do know from my research that parts are hard to find/get.....much easier to find OFR parts..

Well, lemme know if it comes to that. I've got time, since I'm so busy with other things. I got a stack of evil, mean and nasty servers that are kicking my ass at the moment and the job pays like crime so I can't ignore it, plus my mother's on her deathbed so I'm trying to manage that, all of which means the toys are more or less put away. After all, there are only 31 hours in a day... <grin>
