Anybody ordered very recently from Warmoth?

Thanks for everyone's input on this!

Question: Since I ordered before Christmas, do Warmoth have a week shutdown over the holiday period that would delay my build for a week or two?

It's coming up on 10 weeks now and I cannot wait to get this started! Hardware's been sitting on my bench for a few weeks just calling me! - I do appreciate it's busy and I'd rather it take an extra week or two if it needs it! (thanks Aaron for your inside knowledge!)

Remember to post pics!

I will do! I'll put up a few on Just Out of the Box, then I'll most likely do a bit of a log on the A Work in Progress! Finally I'll probably submit it for Guitar of the Month if I feel it's up to it!

I'll link to all these posts in this post, and my previous post when I was forming the idea too!

It's not just them - most companies have little choice but to slow down during holiday periods for a variety of reasons. Supply chains, shipping schedules, vacations, etc. But, you ordered finished parts, which take a while no matter what. The finish has to cure, and there's nothing but time to do that for us. Try to speed it up, and you'll be sorry. It's what ruins many DIY finishes. So, it it's been 10 weeks, they're actually still on schedule. Patience, weedhopper! <grin>

Agreed! I understand it takes as long as it takes! This wasn't a 'hurry up, I'm impatient!' - it was more of a 'let me try and plan my life for the next few weeks' - to see if I can book in a luthier to assemble it 2 weeks from now (my guy's a busy luthier and you have to book in far in advance!)
But I'll just wait until i get that UPS notification and go from there!

I don't now... but between here, my own activities, and what I've read on numerous other guitar-centric forums, trying to plan around the behaviors of custom parts and service suppliers is much like like herding cats... :laughing7:

Weedhopper?!  That's what you call someone who goes across the border in Massachusetts, Vermont or Canada, where it's legal.

And pretty soon, to NY as well. We all know that what Andy want, Andy gets!

FYI, the period from January to April is Warmoth's busiest time of year. We are absolutely slammed right now.

Ah, that explains my November neck order through the online builder that arrived in three and a half weeks.....(Bubinga, no finish and no frets since Cagey installed them)

I ordered a custom body (finished) and a custom neck (unfinished) on January 28th. I guess they will arrive on April.

Probably closer to May by the time the package arrives in the mail.

My unfinished neck and body should be here Feb 26 (yay!) ordered Jan 8. Perhaps some delays were made since i chose a unique figured wood for the fretboard, and its a bass neck, which doesn't seem as common here. Guessing they may have decided to be extra careful with it. Could be wrong

I just crossed week 5 for a Showcase body getting custom routed and finished. No updates as of yet, but I'm hoping to hear something within the next week or so.

Today marks week 10 of my custom body w/ finish and custom neck w/ finish - hoping it'll be dispatched in the next week or so!

Stay calm, have another beer, it'll over before you know it...  :glasses9:

As if by magic... There's me thinking about how it's been 10 weeks.

Custom body and custom neck, both with finish, 10 weeks to the day.
Expected journey time of less than 36 hours from WA, USA to the UK is crazy too. That UPS with customs clearance is the best decision I made!

Eeeeeeeek...

Ah how I miss that buzz of the dispatch notification email. Have fun watching the UPS tracking as it skips around the US, clears UK customs before it's even on its last flight and then visits Castle Donington. It's Arrival at your door accompanied by a brown-short-clad man (who will demand a pile of cash before handing it over) is not quite so much fun, but what can you do?

Enjoy!

Congrats to you. Glad to hear you'll have them soon.
