any ideas and tips?

Hey line6man,

I would do a Bloodwood neck, but I don't like two piece necks that have the same shaft and fretboard wood. Choose a fretboard from the gallery.

Isn't it that W. only does 2 piece necks or do they (for an upcharge) make it out of one piece?

I don't think Warmoth offers Bloodwood for their one-piece VM and Total Vintage necks.
I would not want a one-piece neck, either.

Hello line6man,

so it sounds like you would give it a "no-go" with Bloodwood.
Did I understand that correctly?

I would go Bloodwood/Ebony, or maybe Bloodwood/Pau Ferro, if you choose the right piece.

Hi line6man,

do you mean core wood bloodwood or pau ferro?

Bye  JULIA

A Bloodwood shaft, for sure.
Bloodwood and silver go very well together.

Here is AprioriMark's silver Jazz bass with a Bloodwood neck.

Hello line6man,

excuse my poor vocabulary knowledge, but with shaft you mean the neck (core wood), right.

Bloodwood neck is on the guitar in left pic, ritght. The others have another neck wood, or?

Hi Julia
Yep the silver one is Bloodwood

When it's written like ..... (example) Bloodwood / Ebony .... the 1st is the Main shaft neck wood & the 2nd is the fretboard.

:redflag: Julia I think I can help you with some bits & piece's ....

I have some spare Jackplates in Square & Oval shaped in both Chrome & Black.
I have some spare Chrome Knobs also.
Might have some other bits & piece's too for you .....

Send me a PM with your email (don't post on the site) & I can see what else I have here.

You can HAVE them ..... NO Charge  :icon_biggrin:

Hello to everybody,

even though I didn't even finish my 1st order yet (nothing has arrived since I purchased my order :( :( :()),  I already ordered a 2nd body ---> couldn't resist the Thanksgiving Sale.

It's going to be a rear rout, silver radiant finished 7/8 T-style body.
Only the Warmoth Warheads go with that.........I've seen the notice.

Since it's a rear rout, will I need wood-mount pu's?

Now, any tips for me what "color" hardware I should take and what type of core wood and fingerboard.
I was thinking of Bloodwood/Bloodwood or Purpleheart/Purpleheart.

Other suggestions are welcome.

I thought SOMEONE said they were "broke"?!  :laughing7:

Hey Eric,

well, this month (I had forgotten) we received some extra money (called x-mas money). Not much, but just enough to buy that body  :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin:.
If there was more, I would have gotten a neck on top........ but no chance.

Adios my friend

That's ok. I do the same thing. You see a part you need and if you can spare the money, you buy it. It might take you some time, but eventually you get everything you need. Some time down the road, you have a new guitar. Of course, it helps if you already have one so you don't go nuts.

I kinda look at the things as collectibles, even though they don't have much of a resale value (which is true of most "collectibles"). You collect parts, and eventually the collection is complete and it's a playable instrument. Then you move on to the next one. Or, maybe you have several in process. That's fun, too. More anticipation.

Tonewise I can't think of a better neck than Bloodwood/ebony (or possibly Bloodwood/very dark Rosewood.. this was not specified when I purchased the neck from the original owner)

Hello Marko,

after pm'ing with one of the members of this forum, I am thinking about a Bloodwood/Macassar Ebony neck.
But that has to wait for a while.

Another member is soooo kind and wants to send me some small parts that he has lying around at home.....

And I decided to get chrome hardware....

Hello everyone,

juhuuuuuuuu my body has been shipped as of today.......
Maybe I'll get it next week.

I am soooooo sad, that I didn't have the money to order a neck with it immediately.

I am looking sooooooo forward to be receiving it.

Bye  JULIA

@ Torment Leaves Scars,

yep, exactly, that's why I ordered it.........and because of Paul telling me, they don't do this type of finish anymore. That's why I had to get it.

They should bring that finish back.  It would look totally badass on a "Star" body.
