any Deluxe 5 bass owners here?

Hello,

How do you like your Warmoth Deluxe 5 bass?

being it's a 34" scale, how is the low B?

I'm craving a Deluxe 5 Precision with a P/J setup and Badass V bridge.

I built one.  Works great.  The 34-35 inch thing is a little overdone in the advertising dept.  I use a 130 on the B and it is fine.  Feels like it should.  If I were to down tune to A it might get a little sloppy, but most things do down there.

No problems with the low B.  IMO, the need for an extra long scale is exaggerated.  A proper setup is the key and that includes looking at string break angle at the nut and bridge, along with a properly cut nut.

I've only ever played 34" 5-strings, and like Patrick favor .130 gauge.  I've used .125, but they can definitely sound thin.

BadAss V bridges may be hard to come by - a lot of Leo Quan hardware is backordered and/or quickly bought and flipped lately; I'm really happy with the Hipshot A bridge as an alternative.  I went string-through to help achieve the break angle Eric mentions.

I'm still definitely tempted to try a fanned fret bass at some point, and would if I ever got to a point where I was recording more often.
