Angelus dye over Danish Oil

I put Danish Oil on a plain maple Warmoth split jazzmaster body going for a natural finish. Now I think I would like to do a burst on it with Angelus leather dye. My question is will the dye work over the Danish Oil? If so, after dyeing it I would seal it and do a top coat. Appreciate any help.

It is unlikely to work well. You could sand back the Danish Oil, finish as close to bare wood as possible and start again.

Agree.

Can the dye be infused/mixed in the Danish Oil, and then reapply the Danish Oil? If so, this would negate the need to sand back to the wood, and also creates colored layering possibilities.
