I tend to agree on the "Redskins" being offensive. 

But can somebody please explain to me how hypocritical the NCAA is for claiming that the Fighting Sioux is offensive and the Fighting Irish is not?  The NCAA was going to ban North Dakota from all post season games if they did not change their nick name.  I have not heard of the NCAA saying anything about Notre Dame.
