Well hello everyone!  It's been a long time...  Almost 3 years, I think, since I've been here last.  Things sure have changed.  Very sorry to see the disappearance of more body styles (thanks Gibson...) but definitely looking forward to Warmoth's new designs.

Speaking of changes, I'm now 32 years old, and have a 10 month old daughter.  Never thought I'd see the day  :laughing7:

The wife's Warmoth strat is still alive and well (though she still hasn't learned to play it...  But I've taken it for plenty of test-drives)  And I'm seriously jonesing for a new build.  I had planned a Gibson-style V with Warmoth headstock, so hopefully the big W lays down a similar styled V, otherwise, I'll probably look into a V-2 with a King V option.

Anyway, I can't believe I've been away so long.  Definitely missed being around, and look forward to drooling all over the many beautiful builds I've missed.  Cheers everyone!

Whew...  For a minute there, Dangerous, I thought you had a youtube link to my playing.  That almost scared me away again  :laughing7:

Welcome back! I came in shortly after your departure, so it's a first greeting!
I had my 32nd bday last week.

Welcome back.

"You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave".

But just so you know. We done talking about tone here.

IIRC, you were the one posting Explorer pics in your boxers?

Man, you do that one time and you can never live it down lol.

:laughing7: It wasn't the tone discussions that scared me away.  The only thing that bothers me about that is that everyone thinks they're right, rather than just agreeing that they don't like the same things.

Good to be back.  And holy crap, you've been successful!  Really nice instruments you've acquired.  And is that your J Bass in the running for GOTY?

Yep, that is indeed my bass.  It's a short scale, so it fits me a lot better than the bass I used to have.  Unfortunately I won't be building anymore axes for a while, but I love what I've got.

That sucks that the classic V bodies got cut because of the Gibson issues.  I hope you can figure out an awesome alternative on your next build though.  :icon_thumright:

Like a tele - still flat and uncomfortable, but a whole lot prettier! :headbang1:

And that is a wonderful bass, hannaugh, be proud!

Hey Xplorervoodoo, I remember you.  I too have been gone from "active status" for a few years, but I've lurked on and off with an occasional post.  Funny you mention the Gibson-style bodies.  I recently gave half a thought to building an LP only to learn of this issue.

Good luck if you go for a V2.  I did one and it's not a bad player.  If you want some tips about some things I learned from the V2 build, PM me.

Hey Doc, I remember you too!  After some consideration of the V-2, I think I'll wait and see what 'similar' body styles Warmoth comes up with to replace the Gibson styles.  I don't really like the asymmetrical V, and the King V option is either gone, or showcase only now...

Last I heard the King V is a call/email option only. Like the Hetfield/Lawrence headstock.
