All Men Are NOT Created Equal

In less than 4 minutes he pulls out more licks than I know total
One question...where does a 12 year old learn to phrase like that?

I am burning all my guitars for firewood

Reincarnation....Every great musician returns.....There's really no other explanation... :dontknow:

Tiger Woods was also a phenom. Had his dad cracking the whip in the background with dollar signs in his eyes. I imagine that description might fit a few of these kids' parents, though I hope that's not the case.

Heck, there are teenage girls who can play Steve Vai and Joe Satriani songs note-for-note.

Note for note is just regurgitation though. This little kid is improvising over complex changes. Big difference, imo!!!!

exactly. im no prodegy infact im not very musical at all. but when i was 14 i could play many metalica solos note for note except that my timing was a bit off. my fingers could do what i needed them to but to this day (Im 26) i can't improv. some of these kids are amazing, give them credit when it's due.

This boy plays like he played that stuff 20 or 30 years, especially the triplet Phrase he played at the beginning.

Reminds me a bit of the young Bireli Lagrene:

Bireli was an amazing player at such a young age. Same with Jimmy Rosenberg. I remember my jaw dropping when I 1st heard him in Sinti. I couldn't believe someone so young could be so good technically AND harmonically.

Nathan Cavaleri anyone?

Was a wonderkid on guitar, went over to the US, jammed with all sorts of top line players then hit adolsecence and didn't flourish. Tried his hand at acting but that didn't turn out. When he was younger he had more blues licks than I could think of!

Now back in Australia, I think he does work with a band and still involved in the business, but you get the impression he's not missing the dizzy accolades he had as a kid.

I wasn't making a comparison. I was just adding to what was already being said. I am definitely impressed by these kids.
By the way; your average experienced (and even professional) guitar player cannot play Vai and Satch songs note-for-note. It does take incredible talent AND skill.

And one other thing; I am not bad-mouthing the kid at all (as I said, I am impressed) BUT when you're playing Jazz-Fusion, you can play pretty much anything and get away with it. He was playing lots of scales and licks and was all over the place. It would not work in Rock. I was still VERY impressed with his speed and dexterity. Imagine how good he'll be when he's 20.

I hope he remains focused, and balanced, a lot of these prodigies seem to go off the deep end.
