Roger Waters concert tonight in St. Paul tonight! :rock-on:  I'm not the biggest Waters fan, bit have been a huge Floyd fan for 20 or so years now.  After seeing him a few years ago when he played Dark Side.  I have my fingers crossed that Gilmour will show up, although not likely to happen.

I'll link some videos tomorrow.  I'll get to see how well my Evo phone takes video during a concert.

On a side note, I'm still pissed off that Australia Pink Floyd is not stopping here this year.

Honestly, I heard Gilmour and Waters were seen dining together in Mpls. I'd be willing to bet the cioncert they're playing together will be off the beaten path. St. Paul certainly fulfills that obligation.

I saw Roger a few years ago in Wembley area. It was the last night of the tour and he was joined by Nick Mason. It was pretty amazing how the crowd erupted when he stepped on stage, it's the closest I'll ever get to seeing the Floyd.
That said, the Australian Pink Floyd stop by every year and the show is fantastic, as soon as the tickets are on sale I'll be snapping a couple up. Hope the show is good, really want to see what the new Wall tour looks like, hopefully there will be a DVD.

Rumor has it that there have been spottings of David Gilmour in town today!  :blob7: :headbang: :icon_thumright: :hello2: :cool01: :headbang1:

He's coming to Budapest next June. Should be good. :icon_thumright:

Booked out the biggest stadium in the country (not saying too much) so it'll be big.

Well no Gilmour, but an awesome concert anyway!  Waters is still a damn good performer.  It's just a shame that the remaining Floyd members can't get back together again.

From what I have heard, and this may be urban legend, is that the problem goes back as far as the Wall recording, and got worse as they remained together, once they split and Roger started touring on his own, the rest got miffed and released a few more recordings which made the problem worse in the opposite direction. So much that now it is hard to get past a tit for tat argument.
Now that may be a bit simplistic, but it kinda describes the problem, I am sure a better explanation can be found
But whatever the true problem is, I think the career of the band was unfortunately cut short because of the problem.

Actually, they're on good terms again, and they say they could get together for one-off charity performances, just not tours.

Yeah. Did anyone else see that DG video from a couple years ago, where he and Roger were both rehearsing for their tours in different parts of the same facility and had a friendly meeting outside?

the entire band? or just waters/gilmore?

Well I guess it's the whole band. We know Mason and Waters get on. Apparantly the story was that waters spotted Mason sunbathing and came up behind and gave him a neck massage. That was their first reunion after all the years apart. Not sure how true that is.
It's a shame that Rick passed away, he had so much to do with the Floyd sound. But I would expect that Roger and Rick would not have been getting on to this day considering how Rogers fired him from the band an all.

One complaint that I had heard about Roger's last concert in Toronto was how political his speeches became. He's one of those musicians who feels strongly about these sort of things, but at the same time, you get some people who feel boned due to the fact that they didn't spend money to go to a political rally. How intensive did he get at the show?  Also, speaking of Rog, Fender just released this a few weeks ago...

Cool, but truth be told, I'd do the neck in a vintage tint. However, as many of us think, I'd rather build it than buy it, especially at the $1,200 MSRP. At that price, one could build a clone and still have cash left over for a decent gig-sized amp.

Surprisingly enough, he didn't preach at all.  Just "welcome" and "Thank you" between a few songs.  Although there were some few not to subtle scenes projected on the wall at times.

For instance, during Mother

"Mother should I trust the government?"

Run Like Hell looked like a huge rip on Apple.  Nicely done though.  I thought it was clever.  You can see it on Youtube.  Not from me as I was saving my battery for Comfortably Numb, just in case.

Vera Lynn is always kind of touching whenever he plays it live.  Always gets a big response from the line "Does anybody else in here feel the way I do?"
