There's no advantage I can figure out other than you don't have to route out wood to put one on.

Refer to the above Steve.

Ahhh .... well that second pic wasn't showing when I was here last.
That makes all the difference in the world.

you know some thing s in life make no sense

such as Tube amps sounding better than SS

Harley Davidsons designed 70 years ago still selling like they do

Fresh caught Salmon over farmed raised

and the Bigsby being the coolest Trem in the world even though it is out classed by a Strat trem.

If you want a Bigsby go for it, they are just too cool, but it will not do what the F/R will.

As long as the Jaguar/Jazz Master trem is available, worst trem title does not belong to Bigsby.

It's true; those are some pitiful trems. But, Gibson is not without sin, either. Some of their early stuff was worse than pitiful. Then, there were a lot of aftermarket or third-party suppliers who sourced crap for Gretsch, Epiphone, etc. Made you wonder where the guys who designed that stuff went to school, or if they had any mechanical training at all. It was those guys who opened the door for the likes of Wilkinson, Floyd-Rose, and Schaller.
