A useable soloist pickguard?

Looks promising. I want a neon colored or bright paint job on the next guitar - and for me, I need a pickguard to subdue the visual shock. This is why I love RG’s with guards, but don’t like the body wood. This looks like it could work if both bodies are reasonably close in dimension.
