A new neck

Good work. If you ever get the chance to measure the thickness of what you ended up with I would be curious. Obviously it is what is comfortable for your hand. I take it the Fatback is quite round in profile. I like the boatneck I just got quite a lot but was surprised that the V shape in the first and second position area was more pronounced than I expected. Fills my hand very much to my liking and I'll adapt, just more of a v than I expected.

So I did it a bit asymmetrical with more coming off the bottom side. I got .875 at the first fret and .94 at the 12th fret. I just sanded til it felt good  :toothy11:

That neck is looking great, Eric.  I, too, am surprised that the "beauty mark" came off so easily.  But hey, I like it.  I don't have a lot of the tools the others are talking about, but I do have the nut slotting files.  They are great for nuts, but also for slotting TOM bridges.

Thanks Brent. I didn't get that nut slotting gauge yet. Was about to and then the dam fuel pump went out in my truck. Tow plus fixing it on my back in the driveway just robbed all the money out of my pocket for a minute. Coming from a mechanical background I like the precision tools so it is still on my list.

I got the neck done. Man that spot leveler from stew mac is awesome. I bolted it up to my surf green guitar to test it out. This is the best setup I have done. That action is supper low and no buzz. I am stoked. Now I have to go through my other guitars  :icon_biggrin:

Here is a little vid. As always still a work in prgress with the playing but I sure do love the practice  :laughing7:
