A little rework on a Warmoth Tele

Some may remember this Tele of mine.

This neck was eventually returned for warranty reasons, and the one replacing it wouldn't have facedots.  The replacement neck made it's way to my Buck Owens Tele.  Fast forward this body hasn't had a neck on it for 2 years.

So since I was ordering a neck, and I like modding, I figured I'd do a pickup swap.

Here's what was in it:
EMG 89r, 89, and T with 5-way Strat switching and 2 push/pull pots to split the 89 and 89r.

Here's what's going in it:
2 GFS NEO5 Neodymium Single pickup- True Vintage Sparkle and a Neovin HARD Vintage Noiseless Tele Bridge

Now, the only problem is that the neck pickup routing in the body is routed to accept a humbucker with mounting ring, unlike ordering a top routed humbucking Strat, which accepts both humbuckers and single coils in the neck position.

No problem, set up a guide and get out the router.

Now it fits!

Here's how it's coming:

The mounting screws sent with the pickups look as if their intended use is for a beveled pickguard.  Nothing weird, I've seen those before. However, the ones for the Tele bridge were the same, and I've never seen a beveled Tele bridge pickup screw holes.  Luckily 6-32s aren't hard to find.

Here's my tuners.  Sperzel locking, staggered.

My neck came in too.  Specs:
-one piece Vintage Modern
-Birdseye Maple
-59 Roundback
-straight 12" radius
-1 11/16" nut width
-6130 nickel frets
-no finish
-no nut install
-no facedots, sidedots only
-righthand reverse

There's been a guy on Ebay who apparently raided the Washburn factory big-time, and he's been blowing out the non-staggered ones for $49 for months now. And since they're reversible, the little voice is nagging "just HOW much is staggering around worth to ya, bub?" Appears to be about $29... :guitaristgif:

But then you don't ask Michelangelo "How much per cherub, Mike? Aincha got some stencils...." neither. :dontknow:

Oh, well I paid whatever they're worth then.  I'm not planning on a string tee, and my other with a good cut nut and non-stagger was fine without one.  I actually wasn't even looking for staggered tuners, just locking Sperzels.  The description said they were staggered, so double score.

You spelled "autistic" wrong.

Whaddaya gonna do? Bass players need encouragement. Hey, did you hear about the drummer who finished high school? Me neither.
