A Lester for Hanna

The back is staying natural. I will be using a neutral paste filler to fill the grain so the color will stay as close to what it looks like with the wash coat.

It's the before and after that really get me.  Whenever I see an un-finished figured piece in the showcase, I always wonder what it would look like with dye. I remember not being particularly impressed with that piece (compared with some of the other LPs) but wow, once finished it looks stunning.

I'd guess that people who are "in the business" would get an eye for how a piece is going to turn out, but I wonder if they sometimes get as surprised as I was.

Hanna sent me this beautiful Les Paul body to finish for her and it's off to a great start.

My thoughts exactly.

I just wanna say Tonar, I have been showing off the pics from this thread so much, I just keep them on my laptop's desktop for quick access.

Well it was suppose to get bursted last week but my compressor blew a gasket so I'm down till the  parts come in. Its is really messing me up not having air!

Oh man, that sucks.  Take your time, there's no rush.  I do love looking at these pics though.  Did anything actually fly off of the compressor?  That would be frightening.

No flying objects just lots of air coming out of the wrong place. No big deal fixing it but the wait for the parts is killing me.

Happy Burstday Hanna.

Here it is with one melt coat and the binding ready to be scraped which I need to get on right away.

Holy crap, Tonar!  It looks so good!  My birthday is in 2 weeks, but I think my burstday is an occasion more worthy of celebration by the looks of those pics.  :occasion14:  Digital beers for everyone!

Thanks for the beer!

It IS a big occasion! Everybody has a birthday. Nothing special about that. Plus, there are only 366 available to be shared amongst billions of people, so they're about as unique as tooth decay or herpes. But, how many have such fine body to celebrate? Now, there's a something to get excited about! That's a beautiful piece.

Thank you all for the kind words one more time, thank you for the beer Hanna and here it is with the binding scraped.

Sweet Mother of Pearl and Metalflake, that is soooo beautiful! Another fantastic job, Tonar.

Hannaugh, you are one lucky guitar player.
