I've done a Tele with the 4 way switch where you add another ground wire to the neck pickup cover. I want to try it with two Strat pickups. I read that with the Tele, if you don't reground the cover, then the cover would be hot and shock you. With Strat pickups, does that mean the pole pieces would be hot?

That only really applies if you have a covered Tele neck pickup. So you would just wire the strat pickups omitting the ground wire that is used for the tele pickup cover. You still have a ground going to the switch in this type of wiring.

This. And just for clarification it won’t make the pickup cover hot in the sense that it will shock you, it makes it hot in that it becomes an active part of the signal, acting essentially as an antenna.
