30 " Bass Neck Dimensions

Hi,
When I designed my unique guitar body I also didn't have exact numbers for the neck heel radii or even distance between neck heel and 24th fret.

I only found fender stratocaster drawings were it says 1/4 inch edge radius (so the pocket can be routed with a 1/4" router) and 5 inch neck heel radius.

The rest I "guessed" off pictures from the warmoth page using AutoCAD.

The real dimensions, diameters and such I only knew once measured on the real neck, but the estimated or "guessed" dimensions were easily close enough for the (virtual) drawing board.

In the end I was a bit less than a millimeter off... lengthwise! My first test in MDF for a neck pocket fit was tighter than most manufacturers... :ROFLMAO:

No. I'm trying to make a drawing of a pocket for neck.
It isn't the first time I've asked something uncommon. It won't be the last.
Still... it doesn't seem like it should be a big deal.

I appreciate the input.

I can confirm this. I have one SSB 30" neck on hand, not yet mounted to a body. The heel measures at a 5" radius, with about 1/16" uncertainty either way (since I couldn't find my old protractor).

Update: I didn't try to measure the corner radius, but 0.25" seems about right to me.

Here is what I've got on the SSB30 neck heel. This is all I got, and I can't answer any questions about it.....cuz I don't know the answers.

Then that makes the dimensions shown on the website, which I used a screenshot of in my post above, somewhat less accurate as the 2.375" is the widest dimension. However, the lines in the website graphics line up with the narrower point of the taper, which is 2.238".

I think because one is the neck dimensions, and one is the neck pocket dimensions, and the narrowest point shown on the neck drawing is above the point of measurement on the neck pocket? +adding for wood and sanding tolerances.
