Here's a new body I finished using automotive urethane throughout. I painted the whole thing in a new and improved DIY spray booth:

I've got a Warmoth Goncalo Alves neck for it... almost done assembling...
Out of the box:
I grained filled with Timbermate water-based filler (since this is an Alder body it doesn't really need filling, I just wanted to practice using the filler):
I used SprayMax 2K clear as a sealer:
SprayMax 2K primer:
I wanted to have black "fake" binding so I painted the edges black using Alsa paints with the Preval Sprayer:
Taped the edges and painted it red where I want to put some racing stripes:
Painted the whole body gray then removed the tape:
Clear coated using SprayMax 2K clear then fine sanded with 600, 800, 1000, and 1500 grit-wet:
After buffing (you can see the wrinkles of the plastic sheeting reflected in the body):
Thanks in advance for your comments...
