25 key controllers - happy?

Having used a Roland PK5 to tour with in the past, I would consider using one to trigger samples & drones on the iPad.
I may consider using my Alesis QS7 live for the piano sounds that need that much range as it has been my faithful workhorse for over 12 years now, but I do find myself using more VST soft synths for recording, especially the old analog synth type sounds.  I still haven't found a soft synth piano sample that shucks my corn.  I heard one in Logic that sounded close though.

I might grab that Nano Pad, $30 is hard to beat for a compact little thing like that. Then there's this guy:

I experimented with recording and triggering on that, considered building an Arduino MIDI trigger (already have an unused Duemilanove on hand) but $30 and getting the XY pad on top of it was just too good to pass up.

Will have to figure out what else to use the XY pad for (like pan & wah, etc)

Oh wow - I didn't get to see the video earlier on my blackberry. I kinda figured I was gonna have to record kick & snare, then go back and add hats. And keep my drums pretty darn basic - both for stylistic reasons (fundamentalist drumming - stick to the basics and leave lots of space around it) and to avoid playing sounding dorky (because I am not a drummer) I see I have a new 'instrument' to learn.

NanoPads are awesome - I got two for finger drums.  :icon_thumright:
