humidity and nitro finishing: what if humidity climbs 2 hours after spraying

Good idea, bloom sucks. Higher temp and higher RH combine like algorithmically or something. Nitro out gasses for a long time or at least wants to. I always wait if in any doubt. Did I mention that bloom sucks?

Drill for Body and Neck - Suggestions?

The Fisch bits are the Ferrari of bits. If you are not doing this a lot, Dewalt brad points are good for a few holes when they are new.  You can buy singles at the big boxes and they have them up the scale by 32nds from 1/16th most places around here. McMaster - Carr is a bit overwhelming in...

Besides Warmoth orders....what else you waiting on?

I'm a Project Manager for commercial construction. Everything is long lead it seems and prices through the roof. Got lead time of 25 weeks on some commercial refrigerators today. Very concerning on a 10 week project. LOL  I was told they are sending container ships back to China empty now so...

Drill for Body and Neck - Suggestions?

You asked about Drill bits: Fisch Tools another good source for all kinds of bits is McMaster-Carr

    Brad point or Forstner bit

Fisch (not Phish, the band) bits come highly recommended by a lot of people and their brad points look to have similar properties to a Forstner. I have a set on my wish list as soon as the second mortgage on my home comes through (they ain't cheap). Made in Austria. I digressed as usual.  Cool...

    Mooncaster #4 Ice Blue

Very nice. I like the black rings best but my mind wanders to black nickle hardware with that color. It is very "formal", classy,

    Transparent Turquoise Thinline Tele

Very, very nice.  I vote silver knobs especially after your comment that they are not a true color match but it is all about what you like best.

    Headstock paint

My guess is that it is a warranty issue for them. I frequently finish the face of the head stock only on roasted necks. Usually to bury a decal and then feather the edge of the lacquer film to the raw wood. Never had an issue but I can see how it might present a chip point and they use a...

    Time lapse build video?

I am always interested in how other people do things, would definitely watch. I do not have the patience to actually film and edit such a video. I suspect it would increase your build time by a tremendous amount. Can't see handling a cam and a router at the same time or changing cam positions...

Tru-Oil: Sealer and Wax - Yes or No?

Hand rubbed finishes should be rubbed with the hand. Oil is good for you (probably not but a little won't kill you). Nitrile gloves are acceptable and they do give you a sort of squeegee effect.  I like to trade bodily fluids with my projects though. Remember: A little TO goes a long ways, we...

The neck for my new Mooncaster build arrived!

I'm not usually big on neck binding but that is very classy.

    Fish Eyes new maple neck

Silicone possibly, evil bane of wood finishers. Glad you found something to cover it.
