    New Warmoth Site Bug Megathread

Just started playing on the new site and stumbled across a bug.  It is on the Musiclander body page (I didn't look at other bodies).  If I select any Lam Top Wood below the Zebrawood option (Canary, Pau Ferro, etc.) there is no "Warmoth can choose for me" option so there is no way to continue...

    Hipshot Hardtail Bridge Question

I put a .125" on a Warmoth Vintage Strat body and found I couldn't get a suitably high action, even with the saddles pegged.  With the .175" the action is perfect with plenty of adjustment in both directions.

Hardtail for 7/8 strat, hipshot? Also what tuner do you guys like?

It depends if you want to drill the mounting holes yourself.  If you don't want to drill, the Vintage would probably work best as the mounting holes are very close to the Hipshot 41065 (from the first post and StewMac).  If you are OK with drilling the 3 mounting holes, the American route would...

Hardtail for 7/8 strat, hipshot? Also what tuner do you guys like?

Here are the specs for the Hipshot linked in your first post: And for the Warmoth fixed bridge options: https://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Bodies/Options/BridgeRoutingOptions.aspx The mounting holes are .875" on the Hipshot, .890" on the Vintage Strat Flat Mount and .827" on the American Standard...

Hardtail for 7/8 strat, hipshot? Also what tuner do you guys like?

I have a Warmoth strat with a Hipshot fixed bridge.  I ordered the body with the Vintage Strat Flat Mount option but asked to not have the mounting holes drilled as they are spaced differently from the Hipshot.  The string holes don't exactly line up but they are close, plenty close enough to...

    Satin paint vs. gloss

I found it difficult to get a good photo/video showing the gloss, and didn't have any luck at all with the goblin green guitar given how busy the color and sparkle is.  Regardless, here is a photo and a video of the 2017 guitar that might give you some idea.  The lighting in the video makes it...

Floyd Rose plate material tonal differences

Yep, they should work just fine.  The only difference you might find is the fine tuner screws on the OFR will be a little taller, actually giving you more range but could possibly be uncomfortable depending how you play.  If it is an issue, you can also swap out the shorter fine tuner screws...

    Could use some help deciding...

Thank you everyone for your thoughts.  The Emerald City and Dragon Burst seems to be the popular favorites.  Fortunately, I still have some time to make a decision while I gather funds and let Warmoth work on getting caught up.  Perhaps it will be a fall/winter project. Now, how about the...

Floyd Rose plate material tonal differences

I wouldn't expect the plate to make all that much difference compared to a pickup swap, though it will likely brighten it up a bit. Is there any chance the tone knob or cap is wired in incorrectly? You could also try the EMG 18v mod and see if that helps. The shorter, thicker stock Schaller...

Which neck (profile, radius and nut width) for smaller hands? Bridge and frets?

Some very good replies in this thread, and that is coming from someone with hand measurements nearly identical to yours. The setup I've settled on is a 24.75" scale, Wizard profile, 10-16 radius, 6100 frets, and a 1 11/16" nut.  Seems to be the best balance of comfort, feel, and sound for me...

    NGD: Squire Paranormal Baritone Cabronita

Very cool and interesting guitar.  I like the tele/soapbar look on a baritone. Nice Mills amp as well.  Is the cabinet a Mills as well or is it a custom job?

VOTE HERE! June 2020 Guitar of the Month Contest

Thanks everyone!  I'll admit to being surprised when I saw my guitar on the main page this morning.  All credit goes to Warmoth of course as all I did was rub some oil into the already lovely wood.  It is great to see the Musiclanders getting some love.

    EMG Input Jack help

Is it the outer circumference of the jack that is giving you issues or is it the tabs?  If the latter, you can bend those in slightly to gain you a bit of extra room.

What Leo got wrong, heel t rod access

Ditto that.  The difficulty in accessing the heel-adjust is part of the reason I've changed over to tiltback headstocks on all my guitars.
