What Leo got wrong, heel t rod access

That is a simple fix. I have one Tele with the heel adjust so if I ever get to messing with it I may think about that.

Spokewheel is my favorite type of truss rod. I'd do that mod in a hot second if I had a heel-adjust neck that I liked otherwise.

Ditto that.  The difficulty in accessing the heel-adjust is part of the reason I've changed over to tiltback headstocks on all my guitars.

Side adjust rules. (But they could've routed it out the back. Have to drill but access for all).

I revise my earlier comment about TTG. I strongly suspect there's a 50 year old man that has had his lunch money stolen since 1977 and it never really stopped.
