Well put, with my experience, that sums it all up perfectly.

I'm "In"...I'll check my tele showcase neck that's on it's way....but have to add, the only problem i've had was  a body w/pickup route [misplaced] and it was taken back with a very reasonable conversation over the phone and was made a new one. Hard to beat Warmoth quality overall.

Tonars last post is all you need. For we who have done alot of finish, it's not a tough dicision to strip it off and shoot it again with a failure . I'm sure after all the time you've spent it's the last thing you want to do. Laq. is the most forgiving and quickist to work with AND to strip off...

Not a fan of poly, but have shot many laq's for years and like Deft..never had it crack (humidity levels and wood movement effect that to a certain extent) but have seen it yellow a bit and ultraviolet (sun exposure) . Read recently that violins get better over the years "because' of very fine...

I keep my acoustics humidified (dry NY winters) but with my walnut Tele on the way, I was wondering how many do the same with thier  Warmoths. Do solid bodies need it, concidering all our expensive top lams?
