I have a super nice Warmoth Mahogany Strat body H/S/H hardtail, nitro lacquer, in new condition for sale, PIcs coming, I bought this along with some other parts and was so happy with my first build I never got around to building this one, This is a good as it gets for a fat, sustaining strat...
I noticed for sure that the Vintage Modern necks (VMxxxx) are lighter than the Warmoth Pro necks (SNxxxx) of the same wood because of a lighter truss rod assembly. I assume the total vintage necks might be even lighter, not sure about that.
Hey guys I was thinking about a canary neck and was curious about your experiences with what it sounds like as compared to maple or mahogany necks, I realize there are alot of other variables on a guitar but just curious about anyone's general feeling about the sound of it. thanks in advance. Sean
i was wondering if any of you have noticed a difference in sound between the Warmoth Pro necks and Vintage Modern necks. I was thinking the VM necks might be a bit warmer/woodier with less metal in the truss rod design...? This would be for a strat, imagine same wood, one neck is Pro one is VM....
Well if you talk to any luthier that makes accoustic guitars he would probably not think of using an oil finish and you can be sure your fav accoustic will sound different without the finish that is on the top. I am pretty sure the finish effects an electric too, just more subtly, kinda...
Great information, thank you very much. Any opinions on how the different finishes might effect the sound of a body? Some people seem to think oil finishes deaden and things like Nitro lacquer livens the sound, any info on that would be greatly appreciated.
I just got a mahogany strat body and did a light nitro finish on it before stringing it up, and it is really bright, even acoustically. I have a mahogany tele I did a Watco oil finish on and it is pretty warm sounding. I even put the same neck on both for comparison and it was the same. I know...
I agree, I want to buy a Korina strat body right now but am not going to special order one because it varies so much and I really don't like some of it. I have been combing the showcase for weeks for a hardtail korina strat body without some gay top on it and there are only the same 3 bodies...
AND, some people don't want their volume pot 1/2" from the rear pickup on a rear routed body. I hate seeing a beautul body (there is a $1000 koa body availabale now like this) that have the pots pre drilled and tremelo etc. I think most of us pretty much agree it would be nice to leave the...
I agree as a general policy it would be nice for bodies to be in a more "raw" state, with no pickup routs, tremelo etc. Leave those options to the end user who buys the body, just like frets on a neck. I am aware that the showcase is overflow or in stock items but as I said in the start of this...
I am sure this one has been brought up before but I sure would like to be able to order a regular pro neck without the extended fingerboard. It really is a pain in the butt to try new pickups out when you have to take the neck off to remove the pickguard on a strat. I know, I know, trim the...
