    Alder Strat Body

Hi all, Delivered literally half an hour ago. This one's going to be painted Lake Placid Blue and sold. I also have a maple/rosewood neck on order. It's a heavy body, the shipping weight for the body alone was 6.6lb. Ben.

Just a local pyrographer. She just happened to be massively talented lol. Any pyrographer will be able to burn what you guve them.

Hi all, Not sure if I ever posted pics of this, but here they are. Ben.

    Burnt Telecaster

Thanks everybody. Thanks for the suggestion, but doing this will mess up the really delicate details in the texture of the burns, which I do love. I like the idea of being able to feel the grain, I think it gives it a more natural feel. I only want to give it a thin natural finish.

    Burnt Telecaster

Thanks for the info, tfarny. I haven't started the finish, and I guess I won't use the Minwax after reading what you've written. I don't want to stain it with amber or anything, I like the contrast between the Ash and the burning. What would you suggest for a finish?

    Burnt Telecaster

I'll start the finish shortly. I'm using Minwax Wipe-On Poly. Because of the burning, grain filling was not possible. So it'll end up with a beautiful natural finish!! As far as pickups go, I've had a set made by Mick Brierley (Adelaide). If you're ever looking for pickups, do yourself a favour...

    Burnt Telecaster

That was my reaction when the pyrographer opened the box. She freaked out and thought I hated it!  :toothy11:

    Burnt Telecaster

Got this made up by Warmoth, with a neck too, a few months ago. Just got it back from the pyrographer today. It has no finish on it. Will be starting the finish probably tomorrow.

    A new idea...

Well, they're affordable and they're nice instruments. Plus, people generally give Squier's a bad name, but with a few modifications, they are very nice.

    A new idea...

Yes, that's exactly the one I want. But with a inlay on the fretboard. And as far as Telecasters go, I specifically want a Squier, otherwise I would get a Warmoth.

    A new idea...

Definitely. The only store bought guitar I'll ever by again is a Squier Telecaster. I've wanted one for aaaaaages.
