Here are a couple metal flake paint jobs I did over factory paint jobs. Both are Squier body's with Warmoth baritone necks. I used plain old glitter. The process is to lightly scuff with 600 grit and spray a coat of clear. While the clear is still tacky sprinkle on the glitter. On the orange one...
It started as an experiment in fretless-ness but I didn't like how the lack of frets dampened the tone. I realized it would make a perfect slide guitar and haven't looked back. It's tuned to DADF#AD. I use flat wounds on it and a heavy brass slide and I love the way it sounds!
Thought I'd show off my fretless. This is a Squire Affinity I had kicking around. I gently pulled off the frets and used maple edge band to fill the slots. I coated the fret(less)board in the CA glue and sanded out most of the radius for a flat fretboard. The action is super low because there's...
He's able to shoot his bow which for him is the most important thing. He's a tough S.O.B. and he's managed to keep a sense of humor about his injury as well. I think he was mostly frustrated with having to spend most of the day in the E.R. Thank you for the good will however. I'll pass it...
Just finished today. I salvaged the speaker and hardware from a Crate practice amp. I was originally going to build it from pine but I found a particularly attractive piece of poplar at the big box home store. I wanted a small cabinet that traveled easily to pair with my little Wangs...
I've been thinking about a classic junior style guitar. I know Warmoth doesn't do any set neck stuff unfortunately, otherwise I'd have a source I trust. I thought about doing a 7/8 with a single pickup but I'd really like a set tenon style neck. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with...
I got it worked up and it works. I did have a minor issue when I forgot to separate the back plate from the ground and add a separate lead to the Tele bridge pickup.
This one is a bit of a mutt. I suppose one could call it a Telemaster. It's a Jazzcaster maple chambered body with a wenge top. The neck is wenge with a purpleheart fretboard in a Gibson scale. I did a paste wax finish with a beeswax and boiled linseed oil concoction I whipped up myself. She's a...
Sorry. I suppose that would have been helpful. With the push pull active the first two positions are neck only. Third position is middle and neck in series. Fourth is bridge and middle in parallel with neck in series. Fifth is neck and bridge in series.
