The range is ridiculously low for pulls. You can pull maybe 1/2 step in most cases
Even if you do some tricks like raising the posts, the base plate close to the arm has a little bump that greatly limits the pulls if it's not recessed - see my other guitar with a 2-point 510.
I think Warmoth...
Wow, this looks incredible! Did you do the body work (contours etc) yourself or you paid someone? If paid, who did it? I'd be interested in having someone do it for me, but I don't have the skills/time to DIY
I talked to Ron Kirn about this. He said it wouldn't be cheap at all ( ~$1,000) and you would have to send him an actual ibanez as a template, but he said he can do it.
Hello friends!
I play a lot around the 12-22 frets, so I was wondering which body shape has the better fret access between a Soloist and a 7/8 Strat. I don't care if the neck has 25.5" or 24.75" scale, I can adapt to either.
From the pictures, I can see the soloist has a pretty decent scoop...
visually, the site got a lot better. Everything is more intuitive (vs before you had to kind of know where things were)
I think changes inherently will come with resistance. Some people know how to provide constructive feedback, but some people don't. That's kind of the cost of doing business...
Fair enough Aaron, thanks for the feedback.
The knobs are just cheapo ones I found on eBay.
Not available anymore, sorry, but it was listed exactly as follows: "4 CLEAR Tophat/Top Hat Bell Guitar Knobs Gibson Style for 6mm & Split Shaft USA"
Not a bug, but the customer builds are gone. Used to sit under Community --> Customer Build Gallery
Here is mine. One of the best guitars I've ever owned and tuned up by Mike Lull (RIP)
Can customer build gallery come back?? :blob7: :blob7: :blob7:
I think they should get rid of the drop downs altogether and go back to "radio buttons" or "checkboxes"
Example of radio button below. It's a lot more efficient for the user because they can see what ALL options are before even clicking.
Drop downs on the other hand requires user to click to...
I love the new look! I can see where you guys spent so much time. It was worth it.
The one thing I'd suggest is to get rid of those "drop down" boxes and do "radio buttons". That way people can choose their options with one click instead of two (or more). Also, the options are already visible...
That's a pretty awesome axe! :party07: :party07:
I know it has a 1/16" lam top, but what's underneath that, is that a maple or "core" top?
Example: if I choose mahogany back and flame maple top, would the layer underneath the 1/16" lam top be maple or mahogany?
thanks Aaron! I did not notice tiltback headstocks had adjustment at the head. That might do it.
I know it's personal taste, but if you were to build do a HH carved top soloist with string through TOM, which headstock shape would you choose? (if adjustment location wasn't an issue)
I care most...
I would love to build a Gibson conversion neck with adjustment at the headstock.
My ideal build is a strat shaped neck with gibson scale, adjustment @ head. Binding is the cherry on the pie.
I think it's all possible with the current options, except for the adjustment at the headstock...
+1. I think Ibanez will expand its AZ lineup next year (esp for me who am lefty). If they do release a 22 fret Japanese guitar with rounded heel joint, I'll buy from them.
Unless Warmoth does the "American Deluxe" heel joint. This heel joint has been in the market since 2004 (source below)...
