    Stratosphere products

I have just built a warmoth Strat, a roasted swamp ash body and super wide roasted maple and bought a Stratosphere loaded pickguard with Gen 4 noiseless p/ups. The only problem I had was that they didn’t mention in their description that because of the depth of the pick ups it wouldn’t fit in...

    Water slide decal problem

Wondering if someone might know why my clear water slide decal shows an almost milky colour on my tru oiled roasted maple neck? I am quite sure I put it on correctly and I have sprayed 4 coats of lacquer over it to level sand and polish but yet the shape still shows and it is not clear. Any...

    setting up my strat

Thanks to all of you for being so helpful, I've got it done, guitar sounds great and am real happy with this build, a few pics below. Starting on a new build in January, another Strat, I will be making a chambered body out of torified bamboo, hope I can handle it. I was lucky to find a retiring...

    setting up my strat

Hey Steve forgot to mention G string not wound, also are you setting the intonation with a perfectly straight neck or do you have any relief in it? If straight to intonate do you apply some relief afterwards? If so would this mess up the intonation? Regards Maurice

    setting up my strat

Hey Steve thanks for the input, starting to make sense now. I was reading an article by Dan Erlewine regarding intonation and he was talking about setting up the treble saddles at 25 1/2" from the back of the nut, so if I set the high E saddle at lets says 25 9/16" and set the other saddles...

    setting up my strat

Hi All I have finally finished my strat assembly. I have gone so far as setting the action, bridge adjustment and now want to set the intonation. Being a newbie I am some what confused about where the saddles should be placed at the start of the procedure and could the someone tell the steps in...

    semi finished strat

You're right about it looking like oak, its looks very much like well aged oak because of the black grain. Cagey your words of wisdom make sense about being patient on finishing, just getting impatient is all. Want to play it. Also wanting to start a body made from natural vertical grain bamboo...

    GAS Alert!!!!

Just waiting for tru oil to fully cure prior to final assembly on my first build, roasted swamp ash body with ebony grain filler, tru oil finish, tru oil turned it a bit redder and shinier than I had hoped for but still am happy with the color, going to try and reduce sheen some to a satin...

    semi finished strat

Looking for some opinions, just finished the long process of 3 coats of ebony filler to blacken the grain and completing the 20th coat of tru oil on my roasted swamp ash strat body. As you can see from the pics there is a lot of sheen on the body with that many coats, would like to tone down the...

    body ground

Just wondering if someone could tell me if your claw is grounded to a pot should you still add a body ground to a pot when using gen 4 noiseless pick ups? Would appreciate your thoughts. Maurice

Has there ever been Black Friday at Warmoth?

I really  like Warmoth's direct approach, I have always looked at coupons and discounts as the marketing gimmicks that they really are, as Aaron mentioned it just gets the guy who bought the day or week before the sale mad that he paid more. Quality products, knowledgeable sales staff and fair ...

Fender Loaded Gen 4 pickguard won't fit in my new Warmoth roasted swamp ash body

Will post some pictures after I'm finished, should be another week or so depending on how many coats I put on. This is probably a dumb newbie question but am I correct in assuming that I need to level the frets on my new Warmoth neck?
