    Tiger eye strat build

I stopped documenting the process since I was waiting for parts and the last half of the build came together slowly and little bit by bit, but here is the finished guitar.

    The Mystical Mahogany Build...

If you were setting the trem up as dive only, and keeping it 'decked' against the top of the body, would there still be a need to raise the insert posts at all? Great build.

    Diameter of gotoh studs

I mis-typed. The Warmoth Gotoh studs are drilled to 3/8", which is approximately 9.5mm, so the Wilkinson locking bridge inserts would be smaller. My concern is that the stud ramp angle (if that makes sense) is narrower on the Warmoth Gotoh studs, and I won't have the same range of motion with...

Really wish I went with mini pots

... or a rear loaded Strat. Just wanted to do something different than my other guitars. Loaded pickguard won't sit in the cavity. Yes, it's technically hanging up on the bus wire I used to ground the two pots together, but even if it weren't there it seems like such a tight fit that the tone...

    Diameter of gotoh studs

It is indeed that Wilkinson. However it would be the other way around I would think. The studs that came with my bridge is 9mm. The Gotoh inserts that came installed in my body is supposedly drilled for 3/8" which is about 8.5mm. However when I set my calipers to the diameter of the 9mm...

    Diameter of gotoh studs

https://warmoth.com/index.php/wilkinson-stud Wondering if anyone knows the exact diameter of these studs/inserts. Unsure of proper term. The part that gets fitted into the body. I know the website says to use 3/8" drill bit. Bought a different Wilkinson bridge that is supposed to be a drop in...

    Tiger eye strat build

I do plan on running some copper tape up onto the top around the cavity but want to wait until I get the bridge and align/drill pickguard holes, just so I know where to place the extra tape.

Are the photos still showing for anyone else? They are not appearing for me anymore and I did not edit the post. Maybe something to do with linking to Google drive. I'll have to upload them somewhere else if so.

Thanks for all the tips. I thought that twisting the output jack wires would help in the absence of cavity shielding, but if you recommend using shielded wire instead I think I'll do that. Regarding the orientation of the neck pickup, the builder said that the wire should come out of the pickup...

    Tiger eye strat build

Want to avoid desoldering everything and shortening leads. To your second point, yes that is the plan. Haven't spent much time on this, just finished the electronics last night. Will need to find a way of bending and securing in place. Considering using sticky back tie downs to use with zip ties...

    Tiger eye strat build

I'm part way through my first Warmoth build and while I'm waiting on the final parts I thought why not post about the progress, especially because people here have been very helpful to me. You can see my out of the box photos here The idea behind this build was that I've always liked the...

I think I got the wrong size something

Thanks. Guess I'll experiment a bit.

I think I got the wrong size something

So did I buy the wrong size screw or spring to mount these humbuckers?
