    Roasted maple neck

Yeah, I agree wrong sized screw holes, but it really doesn't matter. A little thin ca in there, a clamp or two, sand the back down to remove them evidence of your failed attempt and you'll never know. Good as new. Trust me, I've repaired a roasted maple neck from far worse (see sig).

Yes, I have a problem. No, I don't want help...

Phil back with another cracker. That top really popped, I was not expecting that. Really elevated this piece. It's bananas and I really love it. Some beautiful wood being put to good, artistic, use. The 45 degree chamfer really is a Phil Hill signature feature now.

    Redwood Hardtail Strat Build

I think the pin stripes look intentional and badass.

    Shell pink Strat

I love shell pink guitars, I;m a big fan of the PRS Grandma Pink colour. let one go once and regretted ever since. Never seen the shell pink with mint before, but it does appear that mint pickguards go with everything!

    Telecaster Deluxe build

Look forward to seeing this built. Recently took a risk on the Hipshot locking tuners myself. I love them. The ratio is great and they're very well made, certainly as good if not better than my other locking tuners.

Refinishing a damaged Koa / Mahogany Soloist with Tru-Oil (by a beginner)

Thanks Fellas! re: comics, grew up on comics and just love the whole art aesthetic. I'm not a massive comic book expert or anything but I do have a bit of a soft spot for some retro DC and have a fairly decent collection of early editions of this and that. Loving the guitar, can't get over how...

Coca Koa is done, and has been played daily for the last week. Enjoy some pics :D

    New Member, Newly Ordered Build

Sounds cool! Personally I'd recommend not taking the neck to a tech for levelling (who let's be honesty is probably just a dude in a guitar shop with a some tools and experience) and buy the fret levelling / crowning / polishing tools yourself. The tools will cost less than getting your neck...

    Cosmetic Surgery because Life happens.

I love this thing, I was thinking about it earlier. It's so original, just like your last one. I wish I had the skills and tools to just make bodies like you do. I hate teles, always have. I've loved both the teles you've made.

Refinishing a damaged Koa / Mahogany Soloist with Tru-Oil (by a beginner)

Welcome to what is probably the penultimate update for this axe. I have been kind of busy. With all electronics in hand I was making a nice little template from cardbaord but tbh I find soldering quite difficult, cardboard moves about and getting measurements right can be tricky, so.... to make...

Also, I'm so stupid. On the last tele I spotted the little flat edge on the bottom corner, just thought it was a mistake. Now I realise that's where you put your jack... I'm not a smart man.

OOOh very cool. Things I really like since last time I saw this, the chaffer with the sexy deep red stain just licking the front end, nice. Also it's the small things, like the little recess to make it easy to remove the read cover, very cool and clever (damn you, too late for me to add that...

Building a Modern Style Lespaul 🙂 what do you think?

Welcome. That's certainly an original custom build there, and that's what we're all about.

I've had a bit of an idea. I was gonna add some resistors to the coil split circuit to let some of the coil still through even when split (PRS style). Those resistors are usually 1.1 and 2.2k, but people do mess around for different tone and values. Also they're not usually used with the really...

Soloist in a PRS-style Dragon Breath stain pattern

hmm, curious. I do use an LSR and yeah, it definitely removes binding from any potential issue but tbh I haven't really had all that much trouble with solid nuts either. You're right though they do need to be prepped well but it sounds like you're all over that. Perhaps it has been the tuners...
