Disappointed to stumble across another Cybercaster, the Lace Cybercaster - looks like a nice guitar though. I burnished the neck, lemon oiled the board, improved the fret ends with 400 and 600 sand paper, rolled the board edges with a screwdriver, sanded and applied first 3 coats of Tru oil...

For the weight weenies, body is 1930g or 4lb 4oz in old money, and the neck is 533g (without the tuners)

Quality seems good and I think I got quite lucky with the grains everywhere and darkness of fingerboard. Relieved that the neck size and shape (59 roundback 1 3/4) which was a total punt seems great in the hand.  I predict an easy build  :laughing7:

Roasted alder body - this tru-oil process or not?

There were a few hardware constraints being a lefty in Australia, so I'm putting together this dream hybrid (/monstrosity): Warmoth   Solid roasted alder jazzmaster     no lam top     Lefty     Top rout w 3xhumbucker routs (middle to be empty)     Hardtail Am Std Strat flat mount     3xbody...

Roasted alder body - this tru-oil process or not?

Hey everyone, after months of patiently waiting my jazzmaster body and neck are due to arrive today. I understand roasted alder doesn't need a finish, but would it be improved or ruined by following this process: http://benchcrafted.blogspot.com/2015/01/why-you-should-be-using-tru-oil.html?m=1...
