    pau ferro fretless...

Hey all, I'm going to be selling a bass pretty soon but I wanted to make sure it's in good shape before letting it go. it's got a fretless pau ferro fingerboard- would you guys suggest lemon oil for cleaning it up? It's an unfinished fingerboard as far as I know (no epoxy, polyurethane, etc.)

    satin finish? worth it?

lol. true that man- i've built warmoth before and I dig their style- but i'd like to incorporate a lot of custom options that a) warmoth doesn't offer, and b) i can't do myself (i.e. I spent $200 to have a $300 warmoth fret job leveled and redressed- well worth it cause it's the best neck I've...

    satin finish? worth it?

I'm custom ordering a sweet lecompte bass - here are the woods: mahogany body                                                                                               burl maple top (with mahogany centerstrip)                                                                                ...

    need help building a rig

I'm ecstatic over my new warmoth neck- i also put in some new pickups and electronics so what I have now is bass worthy of actual gigging. My only problem now is a lack of amplification! I've relied entirely on small combo amps (nothing over 60 watts - which isn't bad) with good tone- swr...

    bubinga neck

I love the feel and look of my new bubinga neck but was wondering if I can make it look more vibrant with some type of oil finish? any suggestions? If I leave it alone the wood will age and generally change appearance anyway, correct?

oh man, I really appreciate the offer but i think the screw size is 1-1/4 philips head. thanks anyway bro, I was going to my tool box to get some allan wrenches to try and get that sucker out when I noticed my needle nose pliers and voila! it took some work but they came out! I checked out home...

    damn you screws!

so i installed some sweet sounding nordstrand pickups with a prewired HAS sound system harness and it sounds phenomenol. However, I really feel like the neck pickup is much too far away from the strings and is in need of raising. Problem is though that two of the four mounting screws have become...

anyone have insight on what kind of tones are yielded when two soapbar pickups are positioned close together near the bridge? I imagine the highs would be more pronounced, but thats just a guess. for example:

    New neck just arrived!!1!

after weeks of waiting my new j bass neck finally came! the neck wood is bubinga and the fingerboard is pau ferro (=true love forever). I had envisioned myself screwing it on to my bass, throwing some strings on and rocking out. I didn't take into consideration all the adjustments needed. Please...
