I bought a can of the shielding paint I though I would give it a try after a few builds with cooper shielding. I made the mistake of reading the warnings on the can and I freaked out. So its back to the cooper shielding for me. :headbang1:
I usually don't like fancy tops but that looks kind of cool. I can see it with blacked out hardware too. I am on some kind of blacked out hardware kick lately. I am not sure why.
I have used the stew mac shims in the past for the opposite problem. I think I would go over some of the other suggestions to make sure is not something in the pocket or the bridge height that may be causing the problem. I personally would go the shim route before sanding. I have used the .25 in...
Most of their necks fit nicely. I did notice when I ordered a custom neck and a showcase body at the same time they must have taken the time to tweak the fit they went together perfect. Looks great!
Yes, I am thinking if its both the neck and body maybe they were both exposed to something they didn't agree with. It will be interesting if you find out what it was. I have 5 warmoths and never an issue yet with the finish. You may shot them a pic they may have some suggestions.
Nice. Just a heads up on the neck you may want to drill any holes just slightly larger than normal. The roasted necks are a little more brittle. If you look in the little packet with the decal I think the have a little warning in there. Good luck on your build take your time and savior the journey.
I would use the copper shielding. I got a can of the paint but after reading the label it scared the crap out of me so I personally just copper it. Looks nice man. I would spice up the pic guard though. :turtle:
I will followup after I get them. Its kind of strange they don't let you know what bushings come with the set your ordering. But, hay I just spent another 20 bucks on bushings (I got a black set and a silver set).
3/20 update: just a pic of the new and old bushing.
I had a problem installing...
I think I figured it out hipshot makes three different bushings. The ones that came with it were the smaller ones around 15mm. I just ordered the size in the middle the 17mm. They also make one for 18mm. I will feel a lot better getting the right one. We shall see. You would think for the price...
I did a little more research and it seems that Hipshot makes some bushings that might help now I just got to figure out what one to order. I was concerned because I seemed to have to really tighten the shaft nut but if I applied some pressure it would move a little. The other issue is the...
I know this question has probably been asked before but here we go. I am installing a set of hip-shot ultralight tuners 1/2 on my Warmoth neck 17mm hole. There seems to be a lot of clearance between the bushing and the tuner hole. Is this normal. I have installed other tuners on warmoth necks...
Thats cool it all worked out for you. My last build took me forever to finish it was like the building gods were screwing with me. Other times things just fall into place.
