    Quick Jazz Build

I put the heavier strings on. It made much happier! It needed some branding. Are these to spec?  :glasses9:

    Quick Jazz Build

That's a cool jig! Looks like an orthopedic device a surgeon would use. I have been experimenting with D'Addario EXL220BT 40-95 balanced tension strings. My 19' Ric likes them along with the 4 string side of my Warmoth double neck. I have another Warmoth P bass neck that hates them. I have also...

    Quick Jazz Build

I performed a setup and had some buzz from a few high frets. Took the neck off and set it dead straight. Checked with a rocker and straight edge and it did indeed have a few high spots here and there throughout the neck. Leveled the spots, crowned and polished. Put it back together and setup...

    Quick Jazz Build

Had great weather Sunday and got to finish the Jazz. Nice and sleek. Letting the neck acclimate a few days before a final setup.

    Double Neck Bass and Six

I usually play in power trios and I am currently learning the DAW (Cantabile) and VST side of things so it will be played on a few select songs with backing pads/tracks. I owned a Ric 4080 back in the late 80's and built this to relive some of fun I had.

    Quick Jazz Build

I got to work on it a little bit this weekend. Applied another coat of poly and then focused on a few frets that had some sharp spots. They need a little more attention to get them the way I like them.       That is a nice P Bass you built! I have a white Squier VM 70's Jazz with the same...

    P Bass Neck from Showcase

Thanks folks! I start a quick build thread in the morning when I can resize some pics. The neck has nice surprise to it.

    P Bass Neck from Showcase

A really nice P Bass neck arrived yesterday! Makes a cold and rainy winter Monday easier to tolerate. Specs: Maple neck, Rosewood fretboard, 1-11/16 nut, Slim taper profile, White pearloid blocks, Stainless 6150 frets. The neck is of great quality as always. :icon_thumright: Also purchased some...

Thanx! The purple really turned out nice. I used Transtint purple cut with a little denatured ethanol. Used an airbrush to apply liberally saturating the surface. The body is alder and took a gamble on it's stainability. Those knobs look pretty cool may have to look into those!

Thanx @BigSteve22! Double the fun! I guess the floor should be considered boutique along with the Warmoth!  :headbang1:

    Double Neck Bass and Six

Just a note I forgot to mention about the Babicz and the Schaller bridges. I had issues intonating the low E strings on both. I was running out of adjustment space. (I did try a couple new strings same gauge and brand) What helped was insuring necks were dead flat, very slightly filing the nuts...
