When their big hit was getting airplay, our fledgling band (jr.high school) played it at a rec center dance and we ended up playing it 4 times that night. (By request). I was getting pretty sick of that cowbell ... That show looms large in my memory as it was the first time the big rental Peavey bass rig failed and I had to play through the PA for the last three sets. Never trusted Peavey after that - til decades later when they came out with their single rack space 'digital' amp, which accidentally made blue flames come out of more than one set of speakers (oops).

I actually like quite a bit of April Wine, but they are definitely no Max Webster, LOL.

Canada has some great bands, including 2 of my favorites, RUSH and Triumph. And don’t forget Barenaked Ladies……

I like to think Avril Lavigne was named after April Wine (she’s Canadian and her name literally means “April Vineyard”)
