Your new favourite beer

My favorite commercial from the big breweries recently was the Miller Lite commercial where they were touting their win in some European beer competition for Best American Style Light Lager or something like that.  American Style was definitely in it.  All I could think was "Did you pay to have a category invented for you, Bud Light, and Coors Light so that you could win something?"  That commercial cracked me up to no end.

No need to LOL at me.. Last time I checked, taste was individual. I think that stella was the best beer I tasted in London, and if you have anything against it - please keep it to yourself and don't LOL me.

:)

Sorry Norvegian, I did not intend to make fun of you, it's just...well, how to say...That beer is so famous here and so standard...It was a reflex to LOL, nothing else...

That is at least true for the big brewery swill.  Even here in Canada, the big brewers are more interested in profits than actually selling good beer.  The exceptions being Alexander Keith's Pale Ale, and Rickard's Red ... both FINE beers!

and a huge +1 to Stella and Hoegaarden ... both fantastic beers.

I favor lots of hops.  Floral, three dimensional, crispy, citrusy, and bitter.  American Styled IPA brews are what does it for me.  American Brewers are enjoying a renaissance unlike ever before.  Hops growing in the United States has exploded and the quality and variety of strains has opened up a world of opportunities for Ale Connoisseurs.

Imperial Oak Aged Yetti.  A divine hoppy beast.

Loved Amstel in the pubs at London.... And Amsterdam's Heineken: SO much better than the one sold here...
