Your Lace Alumitone Experience?

I am contemplating the Lace Alumitone humbucker sized pickups to replace the pretty standard HB pups on my Peavey 335 (JFX1).  It should be a horrible axe, but it's a giant killer of a guitar and it deserves great pups.  The original Chinese pups are not bad, but then again, I am curious how good this guitar could be.  Your experience with Alumitones?

Thanks, BBB

Here's a link to an existing thread - it has links within it as well.
I use them and like them - they give a clean palette to work with.

IMO, anyone who needs good clean sounds (jazz, country), high gain with good definition (various types of metal, djent), records or play in noisy electrical environments, or subjects their signal to a lot of processing should give them a shot.

They have incredible "attack" to them, and are very loud.  I also get a great saturated lead tone at pretty low volume going into my low-wattage (4 watts) tube amp.

Been reading a lot about Alumitones. I have Lollar Dirty Blondes in my SSS Warmoth "strat", and I love them except for the damn buzz/hum.

What I specifically want to know about the Alumitones is: do they have that single coil "sparkle"? That's the one thing I find lacking in humbuckers or  hum-free single coils.

My theory is that if Alumitones have that sparkle, then the other issues they have can be correcte with EQ. One common complaint is that they sound "sterile" - but maybe that's just because the amp settings and pickup height weren't adjusted properly...

Sorry about the missing link - must be been distracted.or in a hurry.
Thanks for covering for me, Stratamania!

I'm not much of a Strat guy, so I can't really speak to your question regarding "sparkle" and at this time, I don't have any way to make a decent uploadable recording.

Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in!
