The benefits of being UW's resident vintage purist is that I know this stuff. :icon_biggrin:
The musiclander/swinger/arrow was a cheap parts guitar put out by fender right around the time of the CBS takeover. It was put together using various reshaped bodies, mostly leftover bodies from the hideous and unpopular bass V. At the time, Fender had a lot of parts leftover from musicmasters, so the swinger was essentially a more modern looking musicmaster, with one pickup, a three saddle bridge, and a reshaped "arrow" headstock. It was sold on the cheap by door to door salesmen.
Quite sexy, I think.
BTW, Pete - I can't wait to see this musiclander of yours, it should be good.
My guitar instructor has four of these (swingers).
