Consider my mind blown by DiMarzio for the first time in my life. I've been runing BKs for the last 4 years, but this Gravity Storm Set has really blown my mind. I have never liked any of the "shredmaster's" signature pickups before.
The humbucker has the sweetest midrange in copious amounts. Just the most perfect lead pickup I've yet played on any guitar at any time. It's extremely clear and detailed, yet gainy - but not overly saturated where all dynamics would be lost. High notes just sings and harmonics loose themselves all over the fretboard. It's tight enough for high speed technical runs, but loose enough to have a chewy feel. An added bonus us that it splits incredibly well and sounds really good clean! This is 80s lead heaven.
The neck is more of the same, except it takes on a completely unbloated character. There is some sparkle here and it's very single coil like in it's essence, except it's fat and lean where it needs to be.
Mind blown. This is in a super thin Ibanez S, as well. This is going to be one fun ride!
