Would 2 x Gotoh BB-02 Battery boxes fit a double route?

Warmoth offer a double battery box routing option but don't sell the Gotoh BB-04W double battery box, only the BB-02 single battery box.

I asked Warmoth if I can fit two BB-02 into the double route but they couldn't confirm or deny this.

Has anyone tried fitting 2 single battery boxes in there?

I know that I could just buy a BB-04W and be done with it but wanted to ask the question first.

Two single boxes may not fit without modification of the boxes. I would suggest just buying the correct part.

Could you elaborate on why this is please?

The overall width length and depth of two single boxes is identical to the width of the double box.

The only thing I was unsure of is that the part that sits in the cavity is 48mm on the double but would be 53mm with the two single boxes

Exactly which may mean you might have to modify each single box along the inner length for them to fit.

I changed the wording above to may not rather than will not. Though I still suggest just getting the double box.

Interesting ... two batteries. I've had guitars with internal pre-amps, in fact own two now, and they use only one battery, what are you going to be using two battery system for? I only ask for informational purposes, as I've never owned a guitar that used more than one battery. I'm imagining a pre-amp, and something like a sustainer. Curious.

Have you confirmed that they don’t carry the double box, or do you simply just not see it on the website?

This important, as to not imply something that may not be accurate.

For instance, when inventory runs out on an item on their site, it temporarily is removed as an option to select as to not mislead someone. I would first confirm directly with sales@warmoth.com “if” they carry it, and if so, are they simply out of stock currently. If so, perhaps they could give you an approximate ETA when it might be restocked.

For various reasons, such as a 18volt bass preamp, would need two 9 volt batteries wired in series. Some also run a 18volt battery mod with EMGs in guitars for example to give a higher headroom. Or when two 9 volt batteries connect to the guitar circuitry in parallel, it can give still 9 volts, but effectively an extended battery life compared to a single battery.

We do normally sell the Gotoh BB-04W, but are currently out of stock. I'm hopeful we'll have them in about a month or so (no guarantees).
.

Well, there you go. Perhaps your build would benefit from a bit of patience and the most compatible component…
