Hey guys,

Just a little series of videos showing the work that I'm doing to New Killer Star's silverface Princeton reverb amp:

Have I said thank you yet?

Somewhere around 2006, I picked up this amp and an Eric Clapton strat for $550.  The guy I bought it from had just had some tile work done and they did some sort of acid wash and it messed with the active pickups in the strat - which I was able to fix.

The amp was always a little finicky but I moved a couple of times recently and it had gotten unusable…

So I gave myself a get rid of it or get it fixed ultimatum.

and here's the next video!!

Yep, you've got some pretty sick expressions going on there! In addition to a well made time lapse and great commentary, I liked the tips about handling HV.

Great videos.
Especially like the PSA. Don’t use to hands as it could arc through your heart. Not good.

LOL

I just wanted to say I got the amp a couple days before xmas, it’s really really good.  He did excellent work.

It’s been really cold the last week in the Seattle area (or at least cold for us) so I haven’t replaced the baffle for the grill yet, but I will soon and I’ll share when it’s done

It was a pleasure working on this amp.  And it does sound pretty good when it was all said and done!  :)

BTW, for folks in the US who are interested in any repairs or rebuilds, there is actually NO duty shipping something across the Canadian border for repair. As long as the unit goes back less than a year later that is.  The only cost is shipping.  I use a freight forwarder so you ship to a US address (which is a warehouse in Ogdensburg NY - just across the river from Prescott Ontario).

Forgot to say:  If you're considering shipping an amp to me, it might be a good idea to just ship the chassis  :)

yes this is a good idea - both shipping the amp to him, and just the chassis...
