Got my body and neck today! And on a beautiful sunny day that i spent with my girlfriend and just enjoying my life. it is a good combination.
:occasion14:

the lens that was on my camera really sux so the pictures aren't very crisp. but you get the idea. Will be finishing these in linseed oil, starting tomorrow when my workspace in the basement is clear!  still no clue about when i'll get hardware. i don't imagine it'll be really done til the end of the summer

:icon_scratch: err. yes?

much better.  that's nice birdseye
:icon_biggrin: thanks. i really prefer having the birdseyes kinda widely dispersed here and there rather than the whole neck covered. i'm really happy with it. and the black dots don't bug me as much as i thought it would.

Looking at the nut, it looks like those grooves are awefully narrow. I play with 10's minimum. Am i gonna need someone to work on it?

That is awesome, that neck will look kick ass with that body....Great job... :icon_thumright:

thanks! I forgot to list what i intend to put on there for hardware:

Tortoiseshell pickguard
gold hardware
schaller locking tuners
gotoh humbucker tele bridge
maybe ivoroid knobs. I'm having trouble visualizing the hardware, but i'll give it more thought after the finishing is done.

not sure about pickups yet. may be getting a roadhouse for the neck, something special. and probably a dimarizo Air Classic or PAF for the bridge in zebracoil. If the neck pickup is loud enough, i actually want to put an Air Norton in the bridge but it might be too hot and that'll all have to wait til May when i stop by in Portland to talk to Ken.
I've never seen a tele with a gold neck pickup, but i think it'll look hottt. may even get a gold cover on the bridge humbucker if it looks right

Always a pleasure to see another telecaster in the world!

Congratulations on what is sure to be a wonderful guitar.

One of these would look bad ass, I like the look of them on open humbuckers... :dontknow:

so in terms of pickup covers, that's a convertible? (not literally. it was more a bad joke)

i'd have to see that in context, but i feel pretty iffy about it

first coat of Linseed Oil applied - the guitar looks like chocolate. sexy sexy chocolate lava. and just from the neck bolts I can tell that gold hardware is going to look sick

Anybody know how many layers of linseed oil I need? I haven't been counting, but i know I'm at like 5 or 6 now.
