Finally had the chance to run this configuration through it's paces.  Very impressed!  I imagine the 1- 5/8" is even more comfy, if not a bit cramped at the nut.  This profile takes what I love about the 59 and improves it for my taste.  I still love the 59, but the WG is my new #1.

While it's thinner on paper, it puts the meat right where it needs to be and the contouring on the treble side really helps the neck stay out of my way when playing on the high strings.  I don't notice the contour at all - the neck literally disappears in my hand and I don't notice it at all.  This isn't the case with my Ibanez Wizard and Warmoth 59s.  This is such a comfy carve!  I've also contoured the 59 and Standard Thin necks I've had in the past in a similar way, just contouring the profile a bit on the treble side.  Really accomplishes the same thing for my taste.

Agreed. Wolfgang is my favorite Warmoth profile. I prefer 1-5/8" nut width, but that's just me.

If i'm not mistaken you can get a asymrtrical fatback (1"-1") from usacg which is cool if your into it

I have a 1 3/4" fatback warmoth neck that I've been thinking of doing a similar thing to. The neck's size in general is really good for me, but the treble side "shoulder" crashes into my knuckle a little while doing top 4 string partial bar chords and things like that. I've been thinking that shaving down the treble side a little to make an asymmetric profile would make the neck more playable.
