The quarter was used to raise the bridge. Wolfgang's have a recessed area around the pivot points. When this bridge is mounted flush it rubs on the body. I got the idea from the original Frankenstrat. I also had to shim the neck to get the action to my liking.

The neck plate was sourced from good ole ebay, I think they were called Greasy Grooves or something a long those lines. The serial number was etched locally.

Cool plates, but they don't do black. only gold and chrome, as with most other custom plate makers. And thier cavity covers seem to be limited to Gibsons, the  =

Awesome guitar. Where did you find the neck?

That's my guess.  Frankenstraat posts on evh forum so I'd check there if you want to get in touch about a neck.

oh, Frankenstraat has his own website... he sells his necks through there. just google 'is name and it'll come up.    :icon_thumright:

DOH!  I didnt realize that you put the link there...

I've always hated Van Halen's Frankenstein guitar. I think it's ugly as hell...looks like vomit on a stick to me.

That being said, your Von Frankenstein is F*CKIN' SWEET! I love it!

I couldn't disagree more, well maybe i could, my first impression a few weeks ago was not good, and as I'm trying to not slam people as much anymore, I kept quiet,  so after a while and having looked at it a few times, I'd say it's an OK looking axe ( trust me thats a compliment from me)
It's certainly original and in no way whatsoever an EVH replica, but it does speak to an era, and if it plays and sounds good, thats the real bottom line. I wouldn't buy it, but I would play it.

I think you misinterpreted me  :). I don't like EVH's frankenstein, but I love what_the_fetch's.
