Who ever said you had to play metal on a seven string?
I wrote this song tonight, just going through some shit lately, and this is how I feel.
I did an unbelievable amount of takes for this, and still messed up, but it got to the point where I was about to throw the computer or guitar out the window, neither of which I'm willing to do...  :laughing7:

It kinda reminds me of something Frank would write. I added a bit of synth in there, and I'm using Superior Drummer 2 for the drums.

Enjoy!

Now do some Rob Scallon-esque stuff with an 8 string. Nah man, awesome job on the song!

Thanks!  :icon_biggrin:
The funny thing is, I was trying to come up with the most metal song I've ever written earlier today, because I just got Superior Drummer 2, and I found some grooves that were just screaming to be used, but then I picked up the guitar and couldn't write a metal song for the life of me... haha. Then I switched to a clean sound so I could tune, and it was like someone hit me ideas.

Rob Scallon does some pretty awesome slap and tapping things, it amazes me what he can do.

I have been summoned.

Ha!  Not much sleep last night and saw your frustrated comment about chucking the computer. Now, THAT is something I have been tempted to do!  I'm no "one take Jake".

I dig the melody!  TONS of potential that you scratched the surface of.  Really dig the clean tone, too.

Are you on Logic?  Forgive me if you've answered this before.

Thanks! Yes I have spent many hours doing takes, with all of my recordings...
The tone I used was in Guitar Rig 5, believe it or not. It was late, and I couldn't plug in, so I made do. It was a preset that came with it, something like "Country Clean For Strat or Tele Bridge" or something like that. It has a nice subtle stereo delay on it.

Yeah I'm using Logic Pro X. I've been thinking about going ProTools, but I've used logic for 8 years, so it would be a tedious process.
