Wilkinson VS-100. Thickness and metal?

Hi.

I've just ordered some guitar bits, including a left handed, gold coloured, Wilkinson VS100 bridge.
I'm going to install some Graphtech piezo pickups in it, and so am planning to get some holes drilled into the base plate to allow the wires to pass through into the body cavity.

Can somebody kindly tell me how thick the plate is, and what kind of metal it is made of - if anyone knows.

Thank you kindly.

The base is hardened steel, and is .125" thick.

Thanks a lot for your reply to this, and in the other thread too.
I think I will probably get the drilling done my a machine shop in the interests of a quality job and personal safety ;-)

Probably a good idea. They'll not only be able to drill the holes accurately, they'll be able to chamfer the entry/exit sides so there are no sharp edges to cut your sensor wire(s).
