Why no clear back for mahogany?

Hi everyone,

First post here! I am contemplating having a tele build from Warmoth and while evaluating the different finish, I came across something I can't wrap my head around, maybe you guys can explain me what's going on :

- I pick Walnut as the core wood and Alder for the top laminate.
- I choose Metallic Shoreline Gold as the Top finish and I have Clear as an option for the back finish.
- But if I choose any other core wood instead of Walnut, such as Mahogany, I do not have the option for a Clear back finish and can only have it in Shoreline Gold as well.

My question is why is the clear back option only available for Walnut if I choose a metallic top color?

The builder does let you pick Gold Top gold with a clear back with that wood combo.

But it may be that the selection you are picking is not a common order or it just is not in the builders logic deliberately. It may be worth an email to Warmoth to see if it is available off menu.
