Which Telecaster pickups?

Building 2 teles, zebrawood with Bill Lawrence new microcoils, and a padauk with Bare Knuckle piledrivers. It may be a few months before both are finished.

Well hearing the responses I got about QPs I decided to not go with that. However, my interest is peaked by Roadhouse. The Tele set seems pretty sweet. P90s, however, sound surprisingly good (at least the clips on their website). Maybe that would be the route to go...   :icon_thumright:

Roadhouse P-90s on a telecaster soundclips.  (played through a lower end amp and recorded on an iPhone)

So I've come to the decision that I'm definitely having a P90 in the neck pocket and a tele style bridge pickup, most likely the Area Hot T to match up with the neck. Thanks for all the replies everyone! The input really helped my decision  :blob7:

Have you considered these?

I had a 72 RI Thinline that had these in it. For some reason I really couldn't "get along with them," as I have said to people who ask why I didn't like them. There was a LOT of low end and they seemed rather dull. Maybe I just had a bad apple. I do plan on someday putting together something with those in them for pure cosmetic/70s vibe purposes.

That's right Max. We have 3 different modifications for these pickups that all sound killer! They really wake up once we get our hands on them.

Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth used our pickups in his Signature Model Jazzblaster on world wide tour last year. He likes 'em!

Oh! Somehow I managed to overlook the pictures and thought you were talking about the originals. Sorry, Telenator  :toothy11: Do you have a price listing for sets of those?

Be prepared with your blood pressure medication before you ask that ;)

(CuNiFe magnets are rare and not cheap)

His site is http://www.telenator.com/
the CuNiFe are the 3rd ones down.

Not only was the CuNiFe obscenely expensive, we had to have custom made bobbins, base plates and frames made because the sizes are all non-standard. You just can't buy them any where!

We only had enough CuNiFe for 30 pickups so, there wasn't enough quantity to order parts in any decent volume so even the parts are very expensive.

No one else in the world makes an authentic CuNiFe pickup! They sound amazing!

I love the Joe Barden "Danny Gatton T-Style" pickups in my Warmoth Tele. For good measure I also put a Joe Barden "Two-Tone" in the middle position for my version of a Nashville Tele with a twist.
